I have been doing different types of dance for over 10 years, but I started poling in early 2017 when a coworker signed up for an intro class and convinced me to tag along. I’ve been hooked ever since and can usually be found dancing/poling or doing aerials when not at my muggle job.

I especially love how pole can encourage people to question and break down the ways society tells them to interact with their own bodies, movement, sensuality, and sexuality, so I’m super stoked to be part of y’all’s pole journeys!

I’m Jennie and I am so excited to be teaching at Positive Spin! This studio and community have had an immensely positive impact on my life including my body image, sense of community, commitment to social justice, relationship with my body, and queer identity and I love the chance to give back.
Pole has given me such an appreciation for my body and what it can do, a never-ending stream of pole goals to work towards, and a great sense of community in my life.

I hope to be able to help foster a safe and affirming environment for others and teach people the amazing things that their body is capable of (no matter the body size, ability, identity, etc.). Additionally, I’m on a mission to share my love of being upside-down with the world (whether that is handstands, headstands, or pole inversions.)

If I’m not poling, running events, or doing manager tasks for the studio, you can find me playing with my basset hound/pointer mix (Mumford), reading, hanging out with my partner, or planning out new hair color/tattoo ideas. If you see me around (in-person or online), please say hello!

Instructor- beginner flex, Levels 1-2 Pole

White femme person with long colorful hair does a genie/wombat on the pole. They are wearing a matching pole set and dark heels and gazing off to the side. The background is trans colors.

I’m Jenna!! I started pole dancing right here at Positive Spin Pole Dance in 2019. As an autistic trans person, I’ve found that pole is an incredible mode of self-expression, a great way to reconnect with my body, and a community where I can just be myself.

As an instructor, my goal is to create a welcoming experience for beginner pole dancers of all backgrounds, neurotypes and bodies. This community has helped me grow in all sorts of unexpected ways, so it’s a joy to be part of creating that environment for other people.

White femme person with dark hair and glasses does an allegra on the pole against a pink wall that has a Positive Spin decal. She is smiling and looking at the camera and is wearing red pole shorts and a dark sports bra.

Hi! My name is Alyssa and I started pole dancing in 2014 in Beloit, Wisconsin. When I moved to Seattle in 2016, I was quickly and unexpectedly laid off from the job I had moved for and began teaching pole out of my bedroom.

Together with my early students, we created a vision of an inclusive pole space that centers community and queer experiences.

One of my favorite things about pole is the normalization of being an adult beginner Prior to finding pole dance in my 20s, I was a composer and music director, and I had never done any kind of dance or sports, so everything was very new and unfamiliar! Now I get to work with adult beginners of all ages as they embark on their pole adventures!

I cannot express my gratitude for the amazing staff and students who have helped to form this truly unique and life changing space! I still can’t believe that I get to call hanging upside down with you all my job!
