If you’ve never done a sport long term, you probably don’t know what kind of training you need to do to get what you want out of the activity, so here’s a brief guide to help you decide what to do next! Students tend to fall into 3 groups, so you can use this flow chart to determine which group you fall into!
If you don’t feel you fit neatly into a category, that’s okay! This is just a starting point and you can send us a message for more help figuring out the best path for you!
You’re really enjoying pole, but you’re also busy and not sure if you’ll be able to come in more than once per week! Not to fear, you can still make progress with one visit per week, but there’s a trick to fitting it all in!
It’s really important for anyone pole dancing consistently to cross train and come to open pole, so we designed the class schedule to optimize class stacking. Most of the time, you can come in for 2 back to back sessions, like beginner pole followed by beginner flexibility or open pole.
Cross training is important for three reasons:
- You’ll progress faster with targeted conditioning.
- You’ll avoid injuries by learning to safely build range of motion and preventing muscle imbalances.
- You’ll avoid hitting plateuas when the moves you’re learning catch up to your strength or flexibility limitations. For example, some people already have enough flexibility to cover all the level 1 moves, but then they get to a higher level and find they need more range, which takes a long time to build. You’ll thank us later if you start now!
For group 1 students, we recommend starting with the mini membership, which gets you into 6 classes per month, plus a substantial discount on any additional classes you take if you want to go over your 6. Almost all of our students are members because it supports the kind of consistency that you need to see progress while coming with lots of perks and cost savings!
You’re really ready to dive into pole and make it one of your main activities! Students in this group tend to get the most out of their practice and form the strongest connections within the community.
We recommend that students in this group take 2 pole classes per week, one cross training class (flex, handstands, or conditioning), and at least one open pole session to review what you learned in class.
Most people stack these sessions by coming in for back to back sessions of pole class and cross training one day and pole class and open practice another day, for example. You can certainly divide this up into more than 2 days if that works better for your life and body!

Open pole practice is also a total game changer. It takes our brains and bodies more than one class for a move to really sink in and feel comfortable, so taking videos in class and bringing them to open pole for review will be incredibly valuable to help you progress.
For this group, we recommend the Ultimate Membership, which includes 10 class credits per month plus Unlimited Open Pole Practice so you can come in as frequently as you’d like to practice without using your 10 credits.
Not everything in life has to be about making progress and setting goals! This group is for people who want to come dance with us on occassion but aren’t looking to build skills consistently.
We won’t lie to you, this group will miss out on opportunities to build strength and community, but if you already have that covered in other areas of life, or it just doesn’t align with your goals, that’s totally fine!
You’ll want to grab a class pack, which is good to drop into any 10 classes over the next 6 months.
We’ll be so excited to dance with you whenever you can make it in!
